It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

A group, that is.   :iconuntold-possibilities:

It is a group :iconpattipix: and I founded (it was actually Patti's wonderful idea and she did most of the work of setting it up - I am not too knowledgeable in these things yet - but I am learning!)

Honestly, the reason why I thought it would be a jolly good idea is, because I wanted to showcase digital works that are not (just) girls-with-a-dramatic gesture/painful stare-in front of-a-dark/foggy-background. Of course I have several favorites among those kinds of pictures too, but they have to have "something else", a twist, a creative/imaginative/inventive addition for me...

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that the group exists and several wonderful artists have already joined; so don't hesitate to do so - we'd be very thrilled to have you all there.

That random thingie is such fun! I did get the Intellectual Agenda first - but I kept pushing the button and got some hilarious ones too. Alphabetic Havoc seems to be a wonderful phrase - can see great possibilities there...
